Trying out VMware ESXi

I haven’t decided on which virtualisation platform I am going to use yet between VMware’s ESXi and Citrix’s XenServer. For now, I am playing around with the VMware offering. Installed to a USB stick with no issues. Ironically, no OSX support for the management application and the recommended approach is to run it under VMware Fusion. That’s right, in order to manage the virtualisation platform, if you are not running Windows on your PC, you need to run the management app under virtual windows.
